3rd grade GT is using many perspectives to solve real world problems by changing out their thinking hats! AND- they used their creativity hat today to design an invention!

Don't forget this year's BRE Tigers shirt! Next Friday is the last day to order!
4th grade GT is impressive with their examples of radial symmetry! They also have written such a caring and a purposeful class contract so that we can have a GREAT year in GT!

Ms. Kirk's class is rocking decimal multiplication! It's great to see different ways to work through these problems! Way to go 5th grade!

Don't forget our Grandparents Breakfast is tomorrow beginning at 7:30am!

Mrs. Moore's class did an amazing job finding the missing number! This is a great activity to do at home! 3 + what = 7?" Use beans, blocks, cheerios, or whatever you have to help! #RaiseTheRidge

Mrs. Russell's students are learning different ways to make numbers! 4 can be 3 and 1 OR 2 and 2! This helps students see the values AND will help them connect more with basic addition and subtraction facts! Try it at home! #RaiseTheRidge

The fifth grade teachers recognized this OUTSTANDING Tiger for her leadership in all areas of our school! Keep up the great work!

Ms. Fiedler used rekenrek, fingers, base ten, and number line to help student get to the next ten! I could tell her students were really grasping the concept! This is an easy game you can play in the car! "26 how many to the next ten? " #RaiseTheRidge

Welcome to 1st grade GT! Today we talked about the talents and interests we hold on our BIG BRAINS! We also wrote our class contract, evaluated talents, and built representations of our favorite talents! These kiddos are just the BEST!

Today was a GREAT day in 5th GT! We continued to explore the perfection of the CIRCLE and learned its significance in many cultures and nature. We also played a great brain game called SET and began making our MANDALAS (which means circle in Sanskrit). Our Mandalas show great detail and radial symmetry. We will continue working on them next week!

Don't forget to sell that cookie dough and popcorn!

Grandparents Breakfast invites are coming through Class Dojo today! We will send home paper copies on Tuesday. We are looking forward to seeing you all next Friday!
Wow!!! Mrs Lopez had her students using pictures, number bonds and number sentences to represent a problem. Way to go first grade! #RaiseTheRidge

"Check out our 2nd graders in action! They explored the properties of matter to design and build hats that protect from the sun. Learning and creativity combined to beat the heat!"

Second grade greatness - In GT today we wrote a class contract and learned about our THINKING HATS. Each hat helps us to look at a challenge from a different point of view. Today, we are using our hats to invent a machine that will either help people to have the super power of MIND READING or a machine that will GUARD AGAINST the power of MIND READING! We will need a lot of hat power for this challenge! Luckily, there are many thinking hats!

Ms. Edge has her 1st graders close their eyes and visualize the word problem as she reads it! Helps students to slow down and think about the actions taking place in the problem BEFORE they start to solve! #RaiseTheRidge

Make sure to join us for Grandparents Day Breakfast!

GT classes started today, and our amazing fifth graders say they enjoyed learning about their SCARF assessment results, writing their class contract, and justifying the circle as geometry's most perfect shape through their radial symmetry challenge.

4th graders need brain breaks too! Mr. Mora has quick fun brain breaks that get them up and going then quickly back to rounding on a vertical number line! Love it! #RaiseTheRidge
