Today is the deadline to register to vote in the March primaries! Go to votetexas.gov to register! Any registered voter can vote in either the Republican or Democratic primary on Election Day-March 5. Early voting begins February 20 and lasts until March 1.

The BRISD Ambassador Academy will provide participants a chance to learn more about the district including finance, operations, teaching and learning, how the school board operates, and much more. This is the second session of this academy and it is open to any parent or community member. However, space is limited to the first 25 people who register. At tonight’s School Board meeting, BRMS principal Angel Perez celebrated the success BRMS had at the UIL academic competition this past December. The middle school had 100 students compete and over half of those competing placed in either 1st or 2nd place as an individual or team. Way to go Tigers! #BRISDpride #LearnGrowExcel


BRISD theater director Bryce Hughes recognized members of the BRMS one act play for their success at the UIL competition. Blue Ridge ISD will be open tomorrow and buses will run on time.

Blue Ridge ISD will be closed on Monday, January 15th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 16th.

BRISD administration is aware that there are forecasts of possible winter weather over the long weekend. We will monitor the weather including road conditions and wind temperatures throughout the weekend. Any decision on a delayed start or school closure will be widely communicated to parents via social media, district website, emails, phone calls, texts, mobile app, and local broadcast stations. Safety is our top priority and travel must be safe for our buses, student drivers, staff, and families. Thank you for your support of our safety efforts!

At tonight’s School Board meeting, BRHS Counselor Brooke Ingersoll, celebrated senior Andi Wood for being selected as a recipient of the Peter R. Marsh Foundation Silent Servant Scholarship Award. This is a national foundation that recognizes students for engaging in selfless, voluntary service to their communities. This award recognizes students for benevolence, a behavior and set of values that will sustain their families and communities for decades to come. At tonight’s School Board meeting, Jennifer Jones from The Texas Association of School Boards came to present BRISD with a TASB delegate assembly student scholarship in the amount of $1,000. BRHS principal Trent Hamilton helped Mrs. Jones present this scholarship award to senior Kaitlyn Garner. Kaitlyn plans to attend Texas A&M University in the fall. At tonight’s School Board meeting Coach Rodriguez celebrated the success of the 2023 Varsity Tiger Football Team. This team overcame several challenges this season and made playoffs in back to back years for the second time in school history. Not only did this team see success on the field, they also dominated academically with 19 academic all-district award winners.
