On Monday, April 8th, Dallas, Texas, and the surrounding metroplex will experience a total solar eclipse, which happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun. This is a once-in-a-lifetime event for our students and we are excited for them to participate in this educational event.
BRISD will be providing NASA-approved solar eclipse glasses for all students PK-12 to allow them to safely experience this event. Campus and district staff have also developed plans to make this experience safe, educational, and fun. Weather permitting, students will join their classmates and teacher outside to view the eclipse using NASA-approved eclipse glasses. All Blue Ridge ISD campuses will be closed to visitors on Monday, April 8th, 2024. No visitors will be allowed on campus for lunch, during the eclipse, or for any other reason. If you have any questions please contact your child's campus.

Please be aware that School St. at Business 78 is currently closed due to a gas leak. Traffic is blocked in both directions. This may cause a small delay in Middle and High school bus routes and car line pickup.

Blue Ridge ISD will be closed on Friday, March 29th, and Monday, April 1st. Classes resume for students on Tuesday, April 2nd. We hope you all have a safe and relaxing weekend.

At tonight’s School Board meeting BRHS principal Trent Hamilton recognized 4 students for their outstanding performance on the PSAT. These students have a 3.3 GPA or higher, scored in the top 10% in the state on the PSAT assessment, and received National recognition from College Board. At tonight’s School Board meeting the Blue Ridge Beta Clubs celebrated their record breaking success at the State Beta convention. The BRISD Beta Clubs attended the State Convention the beginning of February in Grapevine, TX. After months of hard work and dedication from Beta members, parents, and sponsors BRISD Beta Clubs brought home 56 awards and had 85 Beta members qualify for Nationals! BRHS teacher Chantel Stewart celebrated the success of the CX Debate teams at the School Board meeting tonight. The teams swept 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place at the district meet with Hannah Wood, Edgar Orduna, Sara Cable, and McKinley Lentz advancing to the state competition. Congratulations Tigers!
