New Personal Communications Device Law
Texas House Bill 1481, a new state law, will take effect during the 2025-26 school year and will directly impact student personal communication devices during the school day, from the first bell to the last bell.
Students may not use personal cellphones, tablets, smartwatches, earbuds, or similar devices during the school day. This includes lunch and passing periods.
Please begin talking to your child now about this upcoming change. Your support will help us create a more focused learning environment.

After much reflection, I’ve made the heartfelt decision to step away from my role at Blue Ridge ISD.
Serving the students, staff, and families of this incredible district has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my career. I’ve grown as a leader, built relationships that will stay with me forever, and poured my heart into supporting success at every level.
While this goodbye is bittersweet, I’m excited for what lies ahead and remain deeply grateful for every opportunity, challenge, and memory I've gained here.
