Blue Ridge Independent School District is proud to announce the promotion of Lesley Jaap as the new Principal of Blue Ridge Elementary. The Blue Ridge ISD Board of Trustees approved the promotion during the regular board meeting on Monday, June 15, 2026.

Mrs. Jaap currently serves as Assistant Principal of Blue Ridge Elementary and has quickly become a valued member of the campus and district leadership team. She brings a strong background in instructional leadership, student support, campus operations, and family engagement.

“Mrs. Jaap has demonstrated the leadership, care, and commitment needed to continue moving Blue Ridge Elementary forward,” said Superintendent Dr. Matthew Brown. “She understands the importance of building strong relationships with students, staff, and families, while also keeping the focus on high-quality instruction and student success. We are excited to have her step into this important role.”

Prior to joining Blue Ridge ISD, Mrs. Jaap served as Assistant Principal at Spring Hill Intermediate School in Spring Hill ISD, where she supported campus administration, student discipline, teacher observations, curriculum implementation, school safety, special programs, and community engagement. Her experience also includes work as an academic interventionist, reading specialist, RtI campus director, and classroom teacher across multiple grade levels.

Mrs. Jaap holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from East Texas Baptist University. She also holds principal certification, ESL certification, EC-4 Generalist certification, and 4-8 English Language Arts and Reading certification.

Blue Ridge ISD looks forward to Mrs. Jaap’s continued leadership at Blue Ridge Elementary as she works alongside students, staff, families, and the community to Raise the Ridge.
