Life Touch Photographers will be here on Tuesday, September 8, to take School Day Pictures of all students in PreK-12th grades. These pictures will be used for the yearbook and student identification badges. Picture information flyers with purchasing details have been given to students.
Progress On New Football Stadium
The new stadium is coming together and our student athletes have already been using the field for practice. BRISD is excited about our first game in the new stadium on September 11th at 7:30 vs. Honey Grove, with an Opening Ceremony being held at 6:00.
The new lighting has been installed with a 48 hour burn-in time under effect.

Blue Ridge ISD Accountability Summary for 2015
STAAR® (State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness) is the state’s current testing program. Implemented in the 2011–12 school year, it is designed to measure the extent to which students have learned and are able to apply the knowledge and skills defined in the state curriculum standards.
For 2015 accountability, results from the following subjects and courses were used:

Met Standard indicates acceptable performance; it is assigned to each district and campus that meets the target scores on all required indices for which it has performance data.
Distinction designations are awarded to campuses for outstanding performance in relation to 40 other similar campuses. Blue Ridge Elementary was award two distinction designations - Academic Achievement in Science & Top 25 Percent Student Progress. Within the top 25 Percent Student Progress, Blue Ridge Elementary was 7th in their cohort of 40 schools...a GREAT accomplishment.

Blue Ridge ISD Lowers Property Tax Rate
The Blue Ridge ISD Board of Trustees took action at the monthly board meeting Monday, August 17, 2015 to lower the property tax rate. The Maintenance & Operations tax rate approved for the 2015-2016 school year is $1.157149. The board also lowered the Interest & Sinking Fund tax rate to $0.414623/$100. The combined 2015 property tax rate for Blue Ridge ISD is $1.57149/$100. That is lower than the 2014 property tax rate of $1.59750. The following chart illustrates the lower property tax rate:

The 2015 property taxes have been reduced by $0.02601/$100. The Blue Ridge ISD Board of Trustees has lowered property taxes since 2010 when the voters passed a bond to build a new elementary school, a new middle school, and a perimeter road. The 2010 property tax rate was $1.67/$100. From 2010 to 2015 the Board has lowered taxes a total of $.09851/$100.
In 2010 the property taxes on a home valued at $100,000 was approximately $1,670.00.
In 2014 the property taxes on a home valued at $100,000 was approximately $1597.50
In 2015 the property taxes on a home valued at $100,000 will be approximately $1,571.49.
The approximate annual savings from 2010 to 2015 is approximately $98.51 for the property owner.
The approximate annual savings from 2014 to 2015 is approximately $26.01 for the property owner.
The Blue Ridge ISD Board of Trustees will continue to operate the school district in a fiscally sound manner that provides an excellent education for our children.
