Blue Ridge ISD is proud to announce the promotion of Kyle Bobbitt to Head Girls Basketball Coach and Girls Athletic Coordinator.
Coach Bobbitt currently serves Blue Ridge ISD as a Teen Leadership teacher at Blue Ridge Middle School, Head Cross Country Coach, Assistant Basketball Coach, and Track Distance Coach. Since joining the district in 2025, he has already made a significant impact on students and athletic programs across Blue Ridge ISD. This past year, he helped lead the high school girls cross country team to a third-place district finish and its first regional qualification in 20 years, and coached individual regional and state qualifiers in both cross country and track.
Prior to joining Blue Ridge ISD, Coach Bobbitt served in Wylie ISD as a physical education teacher and varsity assistant girls basketball coach at Wylie High School. During his time there, the program earned four playoff appearances, a district co-championship, and two district runner-up finishes. He was also recognized as a TABC Assistant Coach of the Year finalist during the 2019–2020 season.
Coach Bobbitt also brings successful head coaching experience in both Texas and Illinois. During his tenure at El Paso Gridley Unit 11 School District in Illinois, he compiled more than 200 career wins, earned four Coach of the Year honors, and led teams to multiple conference and tournament championships while building programs recognized for both athletic and academic success.
“Kyle has already made a tremendous impact on our students and programs in a short amount of time,” said Superintendent Dr. Matthew Brown. “He cares deeply about kids, understands how to build relationships, and brings the kind of energy and leadership that people naturally want to follow. We’re excited about the future of Lady Tiger basketball and girls athletics across Blue Ridge ISD.”
Coach Bobbitt holds a Master of Science in Health and Human Performance from Northwestern State University and is currently completing his Registered Athletic Administrator certification.
In his new role, Coach Bobbitt will lead the Lady Tiger basketball program while helping coordinate, support, and strengthen girls athletics throughout the district.
