free meals

BRISD Parents/Guardians,

We are excited to share that the 89th Texas Legislature approved funding for students who qualify for reduced-price school meals to eat breakfast and lunch at no charge for the next two school years. This new funding does not begin until September 1, 2025, so Blue Ridge ISD will be covering the cost of this program from the first day of school until September 1st. We are grateful to the BRISD Board of Trustees for approving this plan so that more of our BRISD students can enjoy free school meals.

In order for students to qualify for this program, parents must complete the application for Free & Reduced Meal Benefits and meet the requirements for either free or reduced meals. To complete the application, please go to our website at: https://www.brisd.net/page/food-service, pick up an application from your child's campus, or click on one of the following links:

In addition to free or reduced-price meals, students who meet eligibility may also qualify for SAT and ACT exam waivers, college application fee waivers, and other benefits.

If you have any questions about this program, free/reduced price meals, or our child nutrition department, please contact the BRISD Director of Child Nutrition, Terri Rodriquez, at terri.rodriquez@brisd.net.
