BRISD Board of Trustees names Lone Finalist for Superintendent
On Saturday, March 30th, the BRISD Board of Trustees unanimously named Matt Kimball as the Lone Finalist for superintendent. Mr. Kimball and the district must wait the mandatory 21 days before he can sign the contract and take the reins of the district.
Mr. Kimball comes to the district with a career as a successful teacher, campus administrator, principal mentor, and district administrator. Blue Ridge is his first superintendent position.
Mr. Kimball impressed the board with his interpersonal and communication skills. He emphasizes team building and collaboration, serving others and building trust, innovation and problem solving, and leading and empowering.
Previously, Mr. Kimball served in San Angelo ISD for four years as the assistant superintendent for human resources and professional development and one year as executive director of schools. He worked as an elementary principal in Frisco ISD for twelve years and as an assistant principal and fifth-grade teacher in Coppell ISD for a total of ten years.
Mr. Kimball’s wife Jennifer serves in Frisco ISD as an elementary school administrative assistant. They have one son, Grant, a senior at Texas A&M, and one daughter, Sheridan, who is finishing her junior year in Frisco ISD.
