Mrs. Douglas

Hello friends!  I'm so excited to be back at Blue Ridge Elementary for another great year.  My name is Missy Douglas and I was raised in Collin County, just right down the road in Wylie, Texas.  After graduation I attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas.  After about 15 years in education I switched gears and went back to school at Amberton University to obtain my Masters in School Counseling.  I'm currently contemplating going back to school to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.  I'll need something to do when I retire :).

My husband, Dustin Douglas, is a Collin County Sheriff's Deputy.  He works in the mental health department.  He was on patrol for many years patrolling mainly Blue Ridge, Farmersville, Lavon areas.  We have two kiddos here in Blue Ridge ISD.  Bryson, our older one, is in the seventh grade.  He loves all things related to sports.  Will is the baby of the family.  He loves golf and learning new things. We all love being outdoors!

In addition to my counseling duties I am also the 504 Coordinator. This role affords me to see progress, growth and success of a child receiving 504 services.  Children can receive services for dyslexia, ADHD, and other health diagnosises that require classroom accommodations.  Being the 504 coordinator is both fulfilling and rewarding.  I love helping kiddos reach their potential not only academically but socially and emotionally.  I'm here to answer any questions about your child's well being.  Please contact me anytime the need arises.
