Rebecca Kay - Counselor
I am beginning my 29th year in education and am in my second year in Blue Ridge. I was born and raised in Bridgeport, Texas, and graduated from high school there in 1985. I attended Tarleton State University where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in English. I taught high school English, all levels and abilities, for 17 years before I decided to go back to school and get my Master's Degree. I graduated with my Masters of Education in School Counseling in 2007 from Dallas Baptist University. My husband, Brent, and I have been married 11 years, and we are the proud parents of Piper, a Miniature Australian Shepherd. I love working with students in many areas, but my favorites are college and career counseling, self esteem building, leadership, making good choices, and treating everyone with respect! In my spare time, I love to go to thrift stores, antique stores, and flea markets. On Friday nights, you will find me at a BRHS football game, and Saturday, I will be watching college football all day! I love books and love to learn! I am a movie buff, especially westerns, and enjoy all kinds of music. It is my pleasure and an honor to work with the students of Blue Ridge. Go Tigers!!!
