• Hi!  My name is Leslie Patterson.  I am a long-time northeast Texas resident. This is my 4th year to teach in the Blue Ridge school district.

I taught 3rd - 5th grades during my first few years as a teacher.  When I decided to work with students identified with dyslexia and other reading difficulties, I completed the training required to become a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) and a Licensed Dyslexia Therapist (LDT).

I am trained to teach Take Flight, a multi-sensory dyslexia curriculum developed by Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. I combined this training with additional coursework and earned a Master's of Special Education, with a Dyslexia emphasis from Midwestern State University.  This is my 12th year teaching dyslexia therapy.

I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to work with Blue Ridge families, students, and staff.  I believe teaching is the best and most influential profession there is.  This year I hope to get to know both my students and their families even better.  It's a great time to be a Blue Ridge Tiger!!
