    A referral request for Section 504 may be made by the parent, teacher, administrator, or student who suspects a disability which would be eligible under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 or the Americans with Disability Act. Any parent or guardian who believes their child has a physical or mental impairment that could make their child eligible for Section 504 protections, can contact the Section 504 Campus Coordinator.

    The Section 504 Campus coordinator will work with the parent(s) or guardian(s) to provide additional information. The Coordinator will schedule a Section 504 meeting and the committee will review all available information to determine whether or not the students is eligible for Section 504.

    If the student is determined to be eligible, the Section 504 committee will develop a Student Services Plan for the student, including the accommodations and services that the student needs in order to access the general education curriculum at school.

    The Section 504 Committee will meet every three years for eligibility and to review the student’s Student Services Plan and to determine whether any changes are needed. Parents or the coordinator can also request a meeting if they think the the plan needs to be reviewed or updated prior to the eligibility meeting.
