    Documentation required for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten enrollment: 

    Birth Certificate

    Social Security Card

    Immunization Records (must be approved by school nurse)

    Proof of Residence Form 1, Form 2

    Photo ID of parent/guardian 



     Step 1: Set up Access to Parent Portal 

    * Read these instructions to set up a Parent Portal Account on the txConnect Website, then 
    * Enter basic demographic information for your student 

    ** Once the student has been enrolled in our district and the student has been added to your portal account, parents/guardians can update information such as contact information, phone numbers, and address throughout the year. 


    Step 2: Bring the required documentation to Pre-K and Kindergarten enrollment on May 20 & 21 from 4:00-7:00. If you are unable to make it on these dates, please call 972-752-5554 for alternate date. 



    Pre-Kindergarten Information:

    Blue Ridge Elementary offers a half-day Pre-Kindergarten program. Students must be 4 years of age on or before September 1 of the target school year. 


    Students who wish to enroll in Pre-K must meet one of the following criteria. If your student does not meet one of the qualifications, enrollment will be based on availability.


    -The child is unable to speak and comprehend the English language. (Must complete Home Language Survey)


    -The child is eligible to participate in the National Free or Reduced- Lunch Program (Please complete the Free and Reduced Price School Meals Application), have a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), or Eligibility Group Number (EDG#). An additional form must be completed upon registration in order to qualify for Pre-Kindergarten. 

    • Parent must bring one of the following: current pay stub, most recent tax return, IRS form 1099, a notarized letter from employer on company letterhead listing income or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) eligibility letter with EDG (Eligibility Determination Group) number listed.


    -The child is homeless, as defined in 42 USC11302.


    -The child is a dependent of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority. This includes uniformed service members who are Missing in Action (MIA) or injured or killed while serving on active duty. (Documentation required)


    -The child has ever been in foster care of the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), as well as children in a conservatorship as a result of an adversary hearing. This includes children returned to home and adoptions. (Form 2085C is required)


    -The child's parent is eligible for the Star of Texas Award as a peace officer (3106.002), firefighter (3106.003), or emergency medical first responder (3106.004). (Documentation required)
